Want to be an integral part of the criminal justice system and be challenged by your work? Then this combined Radio Operator and Jailer position is for you. Officers alternate days of jailing and dispatching. It’s a challenging job with a ton of variety including something different every day. Duties include answering 911 lines and local calls for service, dispatching appropriate emergency responders to calls, dispatching police, and responding to radio requests from officers. Alternate days are spent maintaining and conducting the general operation of our 22-bed jail.

We have great benefits and pay. One of our best features is our schedule which gives officers every other weekend off, making it a 4-day weekend! The schedule is made out a year in advance so you can plan vacations and time off.

Working with others who have compassion and a call to serve the public, makes for a great team environment. We offer many extra volunteer opportunities. Employee wellness is high on our priority list and we have a peer support team, chaplain program, and wellness check ins.

High School diploma is all that is required. Must be organized and have the ability to prioritize things that need to be done with the ability to remain calm in stressful situations. Typing skills, the ability to pick up computer programs quickly, and a knowledge of roads will help you succeed. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Sheriff Joski at (920)255-1100.
